Statemo ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our desktop application ("Statemo") and visit our website at statemo.com.

The core principle of Statemo is simple: your financial data stays on your computer. We are architecturally incapable of accessing your bank statements.

Information We Collect

We collect minimal information:

• Email address — collected when you purchase a license or subscribe to our newsletter. Used only for license delivery, support, and product updates.
• Anonymous usage data — basic app launch and crash analytics via PostHog (self-hosted, anonymized). No personally identifiable information is tracked. You can opt out in app settings.
• Payment information — processed entirely by LemonSqueezy (our payment processor). We never see or store your credit card details.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• ❌ Bank statement data — all PDF parsing and conversion happens 100% locally on your machine. No statement data is ever transmitted to our servers or any third party.
• ❌ Bank login credentials — Statemo does not connect to your bank. It works with downloaded PDF statements only.
• ❌ Personal financial information — no account numbers, balances, or transaction details are collected or transmitted.
• ❌ File contents — the files you process are opened and analyzed entirely on your local machine.

How We Use Your Information

• To deliver your license key and provide product support
• To send occasional product updates (you can unsubscribe anytime)
• To improve Statemo based on anonymous crash and usage patterns

Data Storage and Retention

We store only your email address and license information in our database (via LemonSqueezy). Anonymous analytics data is retained for 12 months then automatically deleted. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us.

Third-Party Services

• LemonSqueezy — payment processing and license management. See LemonSqueezy's Privacy Policy.
• PostHog — self-hosted anonymous analytics. We operate our own PostHog instance; no data is shared with PostHog's cloud.
• MailerLite — email newsletter delivery (optional opt-in).

Data Security

Because Statemo processes all financial data locally, there is no cloud database of statements to breach. Your email and license data are stored by LemonSqueezy, which follows industry-standard security practices (SOC 2 compliant infrastructure).

Children's Privacy

Statemo is not intended for individuals under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for email communications
• Export your data in a portable format
